New Cakes

Here are a couple of cakes I made for the up-coming ICES convention.

This is an ivory cake with chocolate brown damask designs. The designs were cut from the chocolate icing sheets from Icing Images.

Lime green fondant covered cake with black gum paste scroll work. The flowers are silk.

Light blue fondant covered cake with white gum paste leaves and floral cut-outs. The flowers on top are roses made from gum paste.

Whooo's getting married?

Jess and Justin, that's who!

This is the wedding shower cake for Jess. She is getting married to my youngest son, Justin, in July. Jess loves owls and had these owls on her bridal shower invitations. I had her email me the digital image so I could use my Silhouette print and cut feature to create this very cute cake. I printed a couple of icing sheets from  Icing Images with the background design from the invitation. I printed the owls on the icing sheets and the Silhouette cut the owls. The borders and letters were also cut with the Silhouette. I love the Silhouette! It is by far the best machine on the market for this technique.

The invitation said: "Jess and Justin sittin'  in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G!!!
(That's OK 'cause they're getting married!)

I was just asked about using  icing sheets with the Silhouette. Any icing sheet you use with the Silhouette needs to be trimmed to go inbetween the rollers. You do not want the rollers to go over the icing sheets or the icing sheet will break or tear.
